Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, I collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to assist in spam detection. An anonymized string (hash) created from your email address may be provided to the Gravatar service. Their privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once I approve your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies
- Comments: If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to saving your name and email in cookies. These are for your convenience so you don’t have to fill them in again. These last for one year.
- Login: If you visit my login page, a temporary cookie is set to see if your browser accepts them; it contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
- Session Persistence: When you log in, I set up cookies to save your login info and screen display choices. Login cookies last two days; screen options last a year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login persists for two weeks.
Embedded Content
Articles or galleries on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images from social media). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if you visited the other website directly. These sites may collect data about you or use third-party tracking.
